Rayman Legends Retold is scheduled for release on December 3 (Thursday) for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. The title features a special collaboration, introducing a limited-edition costume that recreates the iconic look of Astro Bot within the Rayman universe.
Players can obtain the Astro Bot costume for free by visiting Monsieur Victor Beloir’s costume shop in-game. The design process, led by Ubisoft Milan, Ubisoft Montpellier, and Team ASOBI, involved integrating Astro’s futuristic, metallic aesthetic into the organic, handcrafted style of the Rayman series. Lead character artist Quentin Chaillet noted that balancing these distinct visual identities required careful adjustments to proportions, ensuring the character retained Rayman’s signature silhouette while incorporating Astro’s reflective surfaces and blue glowing elements.
Art and World Director Guillaume Arvieu highlighted that both series share a core DNA centered on vibrant fantasy worlds, exploration, and the joy of discovery. The collaboration aims to celebrate the history of both franchises, bridging different generations of players. Arvieu emphasized that such partnerships allow creators to honor each other's work while providing players with unexpected moments that transcend individual game boundaries.
The game supports local cooperative play for up to four people and includes new music stages and reimagined narrative elements. It will be available in a standard edition for 5,610 yen and a deluxe edition for 7,040 yen, both including tax.
