Developer Shintaro Higashi has released a playable demo for the strategy title Ink & Lore. The game, which features a distinct black-and-white ink-wash art style, is currently accessible via Steam and through a web browser version, both of which now support Traditional Chinese.

The core gameplay revolves around a unique card mechanic where every card is a consumable item. Once a card is played, it is permanently removed from the player's inventory. Instead of traditional deck-building, players must strategically manage their limited resources, deciding exactly when and where to deploy each card during their journey.

Players lead a duo of stationery guardians through a 99-page journey within an unfinished picture book. The team is selected from four available characters, each featuring independent health, levels, and equipment. Combat involves managing these two characters, utilizing items like swords, shields, and bookmarks, while navigating encounters with 10 bosses throughout the progression.

The narrative focuses on reclaiming a forgotten story as the world fades away. As the guardians' bond deepens, new paths emerge in both combat and story segments. Players must carefully manage their equipment, currency, and resurrection items to survive until they reach the final page to uncover the mystery awaiting them.
