GSC Game World has officially launched the 2.1 update, titled The Zone Lookout, for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. This release aims to refine various game systems and address numerous bugs based on community feedback and player reviews.

A significant addition involves the A-Life AI engine, which now allows players to configure the distance at which NPCs are rendered. These settings are accessible via the display options menu, offering a default configuration or a dynamic mode that adjusts based on the specific hardware capabilities of the player's PC or console.

The update also introduces mechanical changes to long-range combat. Developers have adjusted weapon ballistics and overall game balance to ensure that distant firefights feel more impactful. Additionally, squad leaders are now marked on the compass and can guide players to known locations along their established routes, provided the player initiates a conversation to check available options.

GSC Game World expressed gratitude to the community for their long-term support. The studio emphasized that this update was developed specifically by incorporating insights gathered from social media and player feedback to improve the overall experience of the open-world survival shooter.
