Publisher FAKKU has hinted at a potential revival of the classic PC-98 title Cosmic Psycho. The company shared a post on its official X account featuring an image of a heroine from the game, accompanied by a message suggesting that their recent activity is not the end of their retro efforts.
Originally released in 1991, Cosmic Psycho is a science fiction adventure game featuring adult content. Players assume the role of an ordinary student transported to a future world, navigating a fast-paced narrative filled with interactions with various heroines. The title is noted for its detailed pixel art and sharp animation, which were considered impressive for the era.
This tease follows FAKKU's surprise announcement in July regarding the Steam port of Dengeki Nurse, a game released during the same period as Cosmic Psycho. Given the context of the recent social media post, the likelihood of a formal re-release for the latter appears high.
FAKKU also published a development log for Dengeki Nurse on October 15. This entry discusses the evolution of pixel art techniques influenced by hardware specifications at the time of the original release, emphasizing the company's commitment to preserving these historical art styles through modern porting efforts.
