The Star Wars Galaxies rogue servers Restoration and Legends have announced significant updates to their respective platforms. These developments focus on enhancing both the visual fidelity and the functional content available to players within these community-run environments.
Restoration has officially launched its New Dawn update, which introduces a DirectX 12 renderer designed to boost performance and graphical quality. Beyond technical improvements, the patch adds outdoor prestige ranks for gathering professions, four trainable mount stats, and a tool for locating loot caches. The update also includes refinements to the auction house interface, alongside various adjustments to quests and instances located on Kashyyyk.
Meanwhile, the Legends server is previewing upcoming graphical enhancements. These planned features include improved lighting, shadows, and water reflections, as well as extended view distances and atmospheric effects intended to optimize performance in crowded areas.
Legends developers are also restoring specific enemy AI behaviors, such as stalking and fleeing, which were absent following the NGE. Additional content in development includes PvP quests, updates to the hunt board, and new world bosses like the NR-N99 and a Bespin-based Gundark. While these features are currently in progress, the team has not provided a specific release schedule for these additions.
