22cans has released the first major update for Masters of Albion, the god simulator developed by Peter Molyneux. Titled New Beginnings, the update incorporates player feedback gathered during the title's Steam early access period, which began in April.

The update introduces a scoring system for nighttime survival battles, rewarding strategic play with points to unlock up to 200 perks. The Arcadium skill tree has been overhauled to utilize these points for upgrading god-like magic cards. Additionally, quest design now features narrative elements and riddles to increase emotional engagement, while the game world faces increased corruption from the expanding Orkenstone.

Molyneux has expanded player interactions, allowing for greater control over the environment and inhabitants. The game's tutorial has been redesigned, and new mysterious structures have been added. Performance improvements now allow for 60 to 80 frames per second on recommended hardware.

While general Steam reviews remain mixed with a 65% positive rating, recent feedback from the last 30 days shows a 77% positive trend. The game is currently available on PC, offering a blend of settlement management and third-person character possession.
