The light novel series King's Proposal, written by Koushi Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunako, is officially receiving a television anime adaptation. The production is scheduled to premiere in 2027, featuring Rie Takahashi as the voice of the heroine, Saika Kuonji.
The original light novel began publication on September 18, 2021, marking Tachibana's return to new works six years after the conclusion of Qualidea Code. A manga adaptation illustrated by Nemo Kurio has also been serialized since February 2023.
The story follows protagonist Mushiki Kuga, who witnesses the assassination of the world's strongest witch and academy director, Saika Kuonji. Before dying, Saika entrusts her body and powers to Mushiki. He must now navigate a world facing extinction every three hundred hours.
Mushiki faces complications as his gender reverts when his magical output fluctuates due to his mental state. To maintain the secret of the director's demise, Saika's attendant, Kuroi Karasuma, forces Mushiki to impersonate her at the academy while he attempts to master his new abilities.
