Microsoft has officially extended the consultation period for Arkane Lyon by one month as it actively searches for a new buyer. Despite this ongoing divestiture process, development on the title Marvel's Blade remains in progress.
The consultation process, which involves the studio's Social and Economic Committee, began in July following an Xbox announcement regarding a studio reset. This period was originally scheduled to conclude on November 13.
A representative from the trade union Printemps Écologique stated that negotiations regarding redundancy plans are proceeding poorly. The union representative criticized the divestiture as contradictory to previous financial updates and argued that the plan fails to account for limited job prospects within the current video game market.
While Microsoft continues to explore various takeover options, internal reports cited by Le Monde suggest that a complete cessation of activities could potentially begin in late 2026 and last through the first quarter of 2027. Microsoft maintains that it is seeking a partner to support future development and project commercialization.
