Square Enix has unveiled new information regarding Romancing SaGa 3 Destiny United, a full 3D remake of the 1995 million-selling RPG. The title is scheduled for release on February 16, 2027, across PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Xbox One.
The game features reconstructed combat and systems, including a world map where new locations appear via regular ships. Players can manage fame ranks by completing events, which unlocks features like increased ability slots and combo counts. Additionally, the game introduces equipment development and modification at workshops, where players spend materials and aurum to craft gear.
Combat mechanics include new formations, some appearing for the first time in the series. Characters grow through weapon and spell levels, and players can master techniques to share them among party members. Battles also feature a terrain system where specific spell types provide bonuses, and opposing elements can shift the field's influence.
New character details were revealed for companions including the Poet, Tatiana, Nora, Muse, and Schar. Players can freely organize their party at taverns or save points. Furthermore, the mysterious character Sensei appears throughout the world; collecting stamps from these encounters grants rewards such as faster equipment development and treasure chest tracking.
