Sega has launched the fourth installment of its creator-focused music playlist series, titled Hideaki Kobayashi – Essential Works. This collection is currently available for listeners on Spotify and Apple Music.
The official playlist features 113 tracks personally selected by Hideaki Kobayashi, a composer who joined Sega in 1998. The selection highlights his extensive work on the Phantasy Star series, which he has contributed to since Phantasy Star Online in 2000.
Kobayashi curated the list to showcase various facets of his sound, including vocal tracks, boss battle themes, stage music, and instrumental pieces. Beyond his Phantasy Star contributions, the compilation incorporates compositions and arrangements from the Sonic and Yakuza series.
Sega intends to continue this initiative by releasing additional playlists centered on its creators in the future. Interested fans can access the current collection through the official Sega creator playlist portal.
