Sega has officially launched a collaboration event titled "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu CUP" for the Sega NET Mahjong MJ series. The event, which began on October 26, 2026, is available across both the application and arcade versions of the game, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the anime series.
The competition features simultaneous East Wind and three-player mahjong matches where participants compete for total scores. Players who achieve a specific score threshold during the qualifying rounds advance to the finals, where the highest score determines the winner. Participants can earn various themed items, including evolved SP characters, background music, and table backgrounds, by meeting specific event conditions.
The collaboration includes a wide array of content, with 52 items available for the app version and 28 for the arcade version. These include characters like Haruhi Suzumiya, Yuki Nagato, and Mikuru Asahina, alongside specialized table backgrounds and EX backgrounds. Additionally, Sega is hosting an X social media campaign from October 26, 2026, to November 8, 2026, where two winners will be selected to receive a "Nendoroid Suzumiya Haruhi 2.0" figure.
The event is scheduled to run in three distinct phases, concluding on November 15, 2026. This collaboration coincides with the "Suzumiya Haruhi no Onrei" project, which commemorates the 20th anniversary of the anime's original broadcast.
