Key information

The classic television program Knightmare, known in Spain as El rescate del talismán, is set to receive an official, free-to-play graphic adventure for PC. This project commemorates the 40th anniversary of the show, which originally aired in the United Kingdom between 1987 and 1994.

Led by writer and designer Ewen Watson, the development team secured an official license from the show's creator, Tim Child. The game features hand-illustrated environments and explicitly excludes any artificial intelligence in its graphical or audio assets.

Gameplay mechanics have been adjusted to prioritize exploration, notably removing the requirement for players to eat to restore health. Developers estimate the total playtime for this experience will be approximately two hours.

The title is scheduled for release in 2027. While British players will benefit from voice acting featuring the original cast, the game serves as the third adaptation of the license, following previous releases by Activision in 1987 and Mindscape in 1991.
