HoYoverse announced that Genshin Impact version 7.2, titled 'Prelude to the End,' will launch on November 4. The update introduces a new Archon Quest where the Teyvat continent faces destruction due to a phenomenon called 'Land Sanctification,' prompting the seven nations to gather in Snezhnaya for a joint response.
The update expands the map with new eastern Snezhnaya regions, including the underground city 'New Kitezh' and the ancient 'Old Kitezh.' Players will navigate these areas using trains while contending with corrupted Kresnik crystal veins, new ice-based creatures, and elemental shotguns. The narrative follows characters Danika and Mitya as they uncover secrets of the region's past.
New playable characters include the 5-star Electro catalyst user Mitya, who enhances Superconduct reactions, and the 4-star Electro sword user Valerie, a military officer providing shields and damage buffs. Additionally, the update features event banners for Mitya, Valerie, Furina, and others, alongside limited-time missions involving rescue operations and information gathering.
Players completing the new Archon Quest can earn 560 Primogems and character ascension materials. Further rewards, such as a Snezhnaya-themed wind glider, are available through the 'Ice Palace Edict' mission. Detailed information regarding these updates is available on the official Genshin Impact cafe.
