Dplus KIA and Gen.G have secured their spots in the quarterfinals of the League of Legends World Championship. Dplus KIA demonstrated strong performance throughout the tournament, ultimately achieving three consecutive victories to advance ahead of other competitors.
A pivotal moment occurred during the internal LCK match against T1. Despite T1 holding a lead of over 2,000 gold, Dplus KIA executed a high-risk strategy by securing the Elder Dragon. This move allowed them to wipe out all five opposing players, resulting in a decisive ace and a dramatic comeback victory.
Player Oh Hyeong-seok, known as 'Kellin', played a crucial role in these successes. After earning Player of the Game honors in the opening match against G2, he delivered additional impactful plays during the T1 encounter to help overturn the deficit.
Following their victory over T1, Dplus KIA continued their momentum by defeating MKOI on October 26. This win solidified their undefeated record in the tournament, making them the first team to officially qualify for the quarterfinal stage.
