Developer Timeline unveiled the Steam store page for Three-Body: Eve of Judgment on October 24. This narrative-focused adventure game is officially licensed from the Three-Body Problem science fiction novel series by Liu Cixin. The title features interactive movie elements where player choices dictate the progression of the story.
The game centers on the Operation Guzheng, a mission targeting the Judgment Day ship, which serves as a key base for the Earth-Trisolaris Organization. Players control Chen Anjiu, a retired special forces veteran who infiltrates the vessel under a false identity to rescue a specific individual. Inside the ship, Chen must navigate conflicting factions while facing a ticking clock that threatens humanity's future.
Gameplay involves exploring the ship, gathering clues, and utilizing items to overcome obstacles. Players face critical decisions, such as whether to reveal their military background or maintain a cover as a mechanic. These choices, along with actions like operating signal jammers, influence character fates and lead to multiple endings. The developer estimates a total playtime of over 5 hours.
While the original novel series has achieved significant global reach, including millions of copies sold and various screen adaptations, the developer has not confirmed any direct connection between this game and existing television series. Three-Body: Eve of Judgment is currently slated for release on PC via Steam.
