S-GAME is set to release the dark wuxia action adventure Phantom Blade Zero on October 29, 2026. The title has already garnered significant praise, achieving a Metascore of 88 on both PC and PS5 platforms based on dozens of reviews.
The game features a kung-fu punk setting where players control Soul, a swordsman framed for murder with only 66 days to live. Combat mechanics emphasize high-speed, fluid action, utilizing over 30 main weapons and 25 sub-weapons known as Phantom Edges. Players must master evasion and parrying to survive against challenging enemies and bosses.
Critics have lauded the title for its art direction, music, and exploration. Screenactu awarded the game 98 points, stating its combat system should be taught in game design schools. Game*Spark, which gave the game a 9 out of 10, praised the experience as a masterpiece for kung-fu film fans, though it noted some instability and difficulties with complex kanji characters.
Phantom Blade Zero will be available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as on PS5. The standard edition is priced at 8,580 yen, with a digital deluxe edition at 9,980 yen. A physical release is scheduled for 2027.
