Reports indicate that a planned Mass Effect collaboration for Battlefield 6 has been cancelled following the closure of BioWare by EA. The crossover was reportedly intended to coincide with N7 Day, the annual fan celebration held on November 7.
Evidence for the collaboration originally surfaced through datamined game files, which contained N7 stickers, weapon skins, spray paint, and a Normandy starship weapon charm. These assets have reportedly been removed from the game files, suggesting an internal decision to scrub the content following the studio's shutdown.
EA has not provided official confirmation or comment regarding the crossover or its reported cancellation. The situation highlights the broader impact of the company's recent restructuring and layoffs, which have affected content within active titles despite the lack of public communication from the publisher.
Despite these changes, Battlefield 6 continues its scheduled content updates. The game is currently hosting a Dead Space crossover featuring a 16-player PvE mode, while the Frozen Aces update, including Platoons and a dedicated server browser, remains slated for December 8.
