Key information

MADFINGER Games has officially transitioned Gray Zone Warfare into its Alpha phase with the release of the Rogue Ops update. Announced on October 22, 2026, this fourth major content drop shifts the tactical shooter toward its core mystery, Ground Zero, while building upon the foundations established since the game's April 2024 Early Access launch.

The update introduces the Hideout, a personal base where players manufacture medical supplies, military tech, and specialized equipment. This system emphasizes risk versus reward, as players choose between selling goods safely to vendors or transporting contraband across Lamang for higher payouts. New Smuggling and Hunting activities facilitate these high-stakes operations, which are accessible in both PvP and PvE modes.

Expansion of the game world includes three high-difficulty locations: a radio observatory, a military research facility, and an abandoned psychiatric institution, plus over 15 smaller sites. Technical enhancements include an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.7 for performance, alongside improvements to NPC behavior, audio, and combat. The update also implements the game's first soft wipe, resetting currency and equipment while retaining player progression.

Rogue Ops is available now as a free update. To mark the release, MADFINGER Games is hosting a Twitch Drops campaign through November 6. Additionally, the title is currently offered at a 35% discount on Steam until November 5, following a milestone of over 1.7 million copies sold.
