The creators behind Ghost in the Shell have officially confirmed that the acclaimed work by Masamune Shirow will continue through a brand new anime production.
The project is currently in development at Science Saru, the studio known for Dan Da Dan and the most recent entry in the franchise. Specific details regarding the format or a release date remain unannounced, leaving it unclear if the project will be a feature film or a new television season.
Science Saru previously produced a 10-episode Ghost in the Shell anime series directed by the creator of Dan Da Dan. That production was broadcast on Prime Video between July and September of this year.
Originally published between 1989 and 1990, the manga remains one of the most famous titles globally. The franchise continues to expand its reach following its initial debut in Japan.
