Yu Suzuki and ININ Games have officially announced that the release of Shenmue 3 Enhanced has been postponed. The updated version of Ryo Hazuki's latest adventure is now scheduled to arrive in early 2027.
The enhanced title introduces several technical and gameplay refinements, including 4K textures, DLSS and FSR support, and faster loading times. Players can also expect a smoother overall performance and increased detail throughout the game world.
Gameplay adjustments feature a classic camera mode, a new optional stamina system, and improved health recovery mechanics. Navigation is further streamlined through menu enhancements, the ability to skip cutscenes, and modified QTE windows, while Niaowu will now feature a higher density of NPCs.
The game is slated for PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series, and Nintendo platforms. Owners of the original PC or PS4 versions will be offered a transition path to the Enhanced edition at a reduced cost compared to the full price on Xbox Series and Nintendo consoles.
