Nexon officially announced on October 25 that the publishing responsibilities for the RPG Blue Archive in Japan will transition from Yostar to Nexon. This strategic shift aims to unify development, operations, and IP management under the Nexon group, strengthening collaboration with the game's developer, NEXON Games.
The transition process ensures that player game data remains unaffected. Users will be able to retain their play progress and currency, such as Blue Archive's in-game stones, by completing a transfer procedure. Nexon, NEXON Games, and Yostar have committed to working closely to ensure a smooth operational handover for the player base.
A detailed schedule has been released, with a conversation video featuring Blue Archive executive producer Kim Yong-ha and Yostar president Li Hengda slated for November. The account transfer portal is also expected to launch in November, followed by a scheduled maintenance period in January 2027 to finalize the publisher change.
While the publishing duties move to Nexon, the transition marks a significant change for the title, which was previously managed by Yostar since its Japanese launch. The companies have provided a dedicated FAQ page to address user inquiries regarding the upcoming shift in management.
