Key information
A new officially licensed point-and-click adventure game based on the cult ITV series Knightmare is currently in development. The project, which has received the blessing of show creator Tim Child, is scheduled for release on PC next year to commemorate the program's 40th anniversary.
The game features hand-drawn art created by real humans, according to lead writer and designer Ewen Watson. To allow players more freedom to explore the environment, the developers have removed the traditional life force meter that was a staple of the original television show.
Many original cast members are reprising their roles for the project. This includes Hugo Myatt returning as Treguard, alongside Mark Knight, Clifford Barry, Edmund Dehn, Iona Kennedy, Paul Valentine, and Alec Westwood voicing various characters from the series.
Watson anticipates the experience will be a short adventure, estimating a completion time of approximately two hours. Due to its free-to-play nature, there are currently no plans to port the title to consoles.
