Mahalagang impormasyon
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently indicated that the company is considering an annual licensing fee of approximately $2,000 per GPU. This cost would cover software designed to manage and run AI agents within enterprise environments, a sector where Nvidia is increasingly positioning itself as a comprehensive infrastructure provider rather than just a hardware manufacturer.
The proposed pricing model could generate significant recurring revenue. Projections suggest that if five million GPUs were covered by such a license, Nvidia could secure $10 billion annually, potentially reaching $50 billion over a five-year period. These figures remain speculative, as the company has not confirmed if this will become a standard pricing structure.
Uncertainty persists regarding the specific software included in this fee and how it interacts with existing offerings. Nvidia currently charges $4,500 per GPU for its AI Enterprise platform. It remains unclear if the $2,000 figure represents a new, separate tier or if it overlaps with current enterprise products, meaning it should not be viewed as a confirmed price reduction.
This initiative aligns with Nvidia's broader development of secure infrastructure for AI agents, such as the recently announced OpenShell Reference Architecture. By integrating security and management tools directly into the hardware stack, Nvidia aims to address the operational challenges businesses face when deploying AI at scale.
