Developer Bulkhead admits that the Season 2 rollout for Wardogs was a significant misstep. Executive Producer Joe Brammer and his team acknowledge that rushing content to address player progression concerns ultimately compromised quality and led to a messy experience. The studio now recognizes that its attempt to maintain rapid, monthly updates was unsustainable.

The team underestimated how quickly players would progress, causing the economy to feel broken. Creative Director Tim Nightingale noted that the rapid reset cycle discouraged investment, as players felt their efforts were immediately invalidated. Consequently, the studio is shifting its strategy toward three-month seasons with smaller mid-season updates to prioritize core gameplay mechanics over sheer content volume.

Brammer expressed concern regarding the impact of recent mixed Steam reviews on the game's visibility and business viability. He noted that negative feedback from long-term players, including those with hundreds of hours, has forced the studio to react defensively to protect the game's standing within the platform's algorithm.

Looking ahead, Season 3 is scheduled for November 12 and will feature a fresh economy reset. To address frustration with the current power balance, the update will introduce limited servers that restrict access to certain vehicles and weapons. Bulkhead hopes these changes will better align the game with player expectations moving forward.
