Key information
A fan developer known as JoggingThryThe6 is currently working on an unofficial HD-2D remake of the classic title The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Originally released in 1992 for the Super Nintendo, the game is being reimagined using the distinct HD-2D aesthetic popularized by Square Enix in titles such as Octopath Traveler.
The project introduces several technical enhancements to the original experience. These updates include improved lighting effects, more realistic visuals, and an upgraded artificial intelligence system that allows enemies to alert one another. Furthermore, the developer has implemented a day-night cycle, a new map, and refreshed menus.
While the remake incorporates modern audio adjustments, it retains the original sprites and iconic designs from the early nineties release. The developer is treating this as a work-in-progress project, and there is currently no confirmed release date for when this version will be available to the public.
