Key information
A new entry in the Alien franchise is currently in development, with screenwriter Aaron Guzikowski attached to pen the script. Ridley Scott is serving as a producer on the project alongside Michael Pruss of Scott Free.
The upcoming film is expected to connect to the narratives established in Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. While the plot remains largely undisclosed, there are plans to feature the character David, previously portrayed by Michael Fassbender, though the actor is not yet officially attached to the production.
The project is distinct from the 2024 release Alien: Romulus, which is not a direct predecessor to this new installment. Reports indicate that the film is in its early stages, and a director has not yet been selected for the production.
Ridley Scott announced his involvement in August, noting his intent to return to the franchise. Meanwhile, the status of a potential sequel to Alien: Romulus remains uncertain, with Fede Alvarez currently slated to produce rather than direct future entries in that specific branch.
