A new entry in the Alien science fiction horror series is currently in development, featuring Prisoners screenwriter Aaron Guzikowski. Ridley Scott is attached to the project as a producer alongside Michael Pruss of Scott Free.
The upcoming film is expected to connect to the narratives established in Prometheus and Alien: Covenant rather than serving as a sequel to 2024's Alien: Romulus. The creative team intends to feature the character David, portrayed by Michael Fassbender, though the actor is not yet officially attached to the production.
The project remains in its early stages with no director currently selected. Ridley Scott personally approached Guzikowski to begin work on the script following his previous collaboration with the writer on the HBO series Raised by Wolves.
Details regarding the plot and cast remain largely undisclosed. Meanwhile, the status of a potential sequel to Alien: Romulus remains uncertain, with Fede Alvarez expected to serve as a producer for future installments in that specific branch of the franchise.
