As of October 23, 2026, the programming software Petit Computer 4 SmileBASIC is no longer available for purchase on Nintendo Switch storefronts worldwide. The title, which allows users to create games and programs using the SmileBASIC language, has been pulled from digital distribution.
The software includes various creation tools and presets, alongside a feature for sharing user-developed programs online. Recently, the developers conducted server maintenance to address PHP vulnerabilities, and the upload and download services had only just resumed before this sudden removal.
While official channels, including the website and X accounts, have provided no explanation for the delisting, international media outlets like Twisted Voxel have linked the situation to reports of the software's vulnerabilities being exploited to facilitate unauthorized modifications for the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware.
The Game*Spark editorial department is currently seeking clarification from the publisher regarding the specific reasons for the suspension and whether the software will return to the store in the future.
