Abelina is an upcoming surreal platforming game centered on a character named Vasily who has passed away. The protagonist finds himself in a mysterious, nature-filled afterlife called Abelina, where he attempts to rediscover happiness alongside a small group of other individuals while tending to gardens and carving masks.
The gameplay involves navigating an otherworldly environment that features branching paths and open vistas. Players must perform precise jumps, engage in flying mechanics, and utilize rolling movements. A mysterious rabbit-cat creature guides the player through the landscape as they search for truth within the afterlife.
The project is led by Gabe Askew, a developer with a background in CG cinematics for League of Legends, Valorant, and Love, Death + Robots. The game's soundtrack is composed by Ryan Holladay, known for his work on the recent Resident Evil movie and the film Weapons.
The game is currently available to wishlist on Steam. The developer has scheduled the official release of Abelina for 2027.
