Key information
Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.5, released October 22, 2026, introduces official mod support for consoles via mod.io. This integration allows players on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S to browse and install user-created content, marking a significant step toward platform-agnostic modding for the title.
The update also introduces a dual-wielding mechanic for Power-category pistols and revolvers, unlocked via the Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree. While iconic weapons retain their unique effects, the base perk imposes a 37.5% damage penalty per weapon. Higher perk levels and supporting skills can mitigate this, including the Heywood Hurricane ability which fires both weapons simultaneously.
PC modders have already expanded these mechanics, with creators like JericoHellden releasing mods that enable dual-wielding for shotguns and rifles. However, JericoHellden described these early community efforts as janky and wildly overpowered, noting they rely on the Cyber Engine Tweaks framework, which remains exclusive to the PC platform.
Beyond gameplay changes, the Edgerunners 2 update adds thematic content including two side quests, new cosmetic options for cybernetic arms, and the HKGN 102.0 FM radio station. While currently available on PC and current-gen consoles, a version for Nintendo Switch 2 is planned for a later date.
