Key information
Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.5, released on October 22, 2026, introduces official modding support for consoles via mod.io. CD Projekt Red describes this as a significant step toward cross-platform modding, allowing players on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S to browse and install user-created content directly within the game.
The update also adds a dual-wielding mechanic for Power pistols and revolvers. Players can unlock this style via the Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree at Level 9. While the base perk imposes a 37.5% damage penalty per weapon, subsequent levels and supporting perks allow for more advanced maneuvers, such as the Heywood Hurricane, which fires both weapons simultaneously.
PC modders have already expanded these combat mechanics. Within 24 hours of release, mods like JericoHellden’s Expanded Dual Wielding enabled dual-wielding for shotguns and rifles. However, JericoHellden noted that these unofficial implementations can feel janky and wildly overpowered compared to the official system.
Beyond combat, the Edgerunners 2 update includes new side quests, cosmetic items, and the HKGN 102.0 FM radio station. PC users receive technical upgrades like DLSS 4.5, while a Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned for a later date. The update is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
