Cyberpunk 2077's Edgerunners 2 Update, also known as Update 2.5, launched on 22 October 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The release introduces official modding support for consoles via mod.io, marking a significant step toward cross-platform user content for the title.
Combat receives a new dual-wielding mechanic enabled by the Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree. This feature is restricted to Power-category pistols and revolvers, imposing a 37.5% damage penalty per weapon at the first level. While official support is limited, PC modders have already utilized the Cyber Engine Tweaks framework to expand dual-wielding to other weapon types, though these community additions are described as janky and overpowered.
The update serves as a tie-in for the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 anime, adding themed content such as side quests, Tarot cards, and cosmetic options like cybernetic arm appearance swaps. PC users also gain technical enhancements, including DLSS 4.5 with Multi Frame Generation and new AMD FSR options.
CD Projekt Red confirmed that a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the update is planned for a later date. The studio previously previewed these features during a REDstreams broadcast before releasing the patch notes on 21 October 2026.
