Key information
Cloud Imperium Games released a new 10 from the Community video, featuring developers answering ten fan-submitted questions regarding the current state of Star Citizen. The discussion focused heavily on technical hurdles, including persistent bugs and performance issues.
To combat recurring bugs, the team has reallocated development resources toward identifying root causes rather than just addressing symptoms. Developers highlighted new internal testing protocols designed to verify that resolved issues remain fixed within the complex MMO environment, specifically citing freight elevators as a primary area of focus.
Regarding desync problems, the studio is currently conducting tech preview tests to evaluate potential solutions. A detailed developer blog is also in production to explain the various technical sources of desync. Meanwhile, NPC AI performance issues are being linked to server meshing stutters, particularly during high-load events like the Siege of Orison.
The Q&A also touched on broader development goals, such as updating ground vehicles, transitioning UI elements to the bespoke Building Blocks system, and investigating why players cannot currently sell owned ships in-game. The full discussion is available in the 30-minute video.
