Key information
The Edifier Hecate G2000 Pro is a 2.0 desktop speaker system featuring a unique, elongated hexagonal design with a transparent enclosure and customizable RGB lighting. Priced at $249.99, these speakers offer a sturdy build and a 10° tilt for optimal sound direction, eliminating the need for external stands.
Equipped with a single 3-inch driver, the system delivers 32W of total power. While lacking a dedicated subwoofer port, the speakers provide impressive clarity and a wide soundstage for their size. The reviewer noted that the default flat EQ provides superior audio quality compared to the dynamic bass boost settings.
Connectivity is a highlight, featuring USB-C, USB-A, 3.5mm AUX, and Bluetooth 5.4. However, the reviewer found the companion Xear software frustrating due to tiny UI elements and software conflicts that interrupted music playback. Additionally, the 7.1 virtual surround sound feature is effective for specific games but creates unwanted echo in stereo-focused titles.
Overall, the reviewer concluded that the G2000 Pro is a solid mid-range option for bedroom gaming setups. Despite the lackluster software, the speakers impress with their loudness and aesthetic appeal, serving as a notable upgrade over the standard G2000 model.
