Following the box office and critical success of the new Resident Evil film directed by Zach Cregger, developer Julian Zamora has begun creating an original survival horror game adaptation. This project is being developed in Godot and is set within the world of Capcom's established franchise.
The game utilizes 3D graphics and fixed camera angles, a design choice intended to evoke the exploration style of the series' earliest entries. Zamora highlighted a specific scene featuring the character Bryan, played by Austin Abrams, navigating a snowstorm while fleeing from a dog.
Regarding the visual aesthetic, Zamora noted that while he currently lacks the technique to replicate the flat pre-rendered backgrounds typical of the PS1 era, the result resembles Resident Evil Code: Veronica. He emphasized that this project serves primarily as a personal learning experience for game development.
It remains uncertain whether the title will be completed or released to the public, as the author is currently building it for his own purposes. Interested parties can view development progress through videos shared on Zamora's Instagram account.
