Jono is a free-to-play 2D platformer on Steam that has garnered a 96% positive review rating. Developed by Tuomas Erikoinen, a former artist for the original Angry Birds, the game features a unique mechanic where thousands of players share a single adventure, but only one person controls the character at any given time.

The gameplay involves navigating obstacles, jumping over spikes, and passing through portals. Each player is granted a one-minute turn to control the character. Once that time expires, the next person in the queue takes over exactly where the previous player left off, continuing the collective progress.

While waiting for their turn, players can watch the live gameplay, chat with others, and offer advice. Erikoinen noted on Reddit that while the game draws users in, the social interaction and humor are what keep them connected. The community has already surpassed 87,600 completed levels, despite accumulating over 114,000 deaths.

The project aims to reach one million levels. For those seeking a greater challenge, the Meat Grinder mode features player-created levels. One such level required 2,627 deaths and nearly five hours of collective effort to complete. The game, developed in about a month, draws inspiration from Peter Molyneux's social experiment, Curiosity.
