Nuengnara Teeramahanon, known professionally as 23savage and signed to Xipto Esports, reported being handcuffed by Malaysian police during a training session. The incident occurred in Kuala Lumpur, where authorities frequently conduct raids targeting illegal gambling rings and fraudulent call centers.

Police suspected the residence was a criminal hideout due to the presence of multiple high-performance computers and individuals who rarely left the premises. During the two-hour detention, officers cut the internet connection and questioned the players, who were unable to continue their scheduled bootcamp activities.

To prove his identity, 23savage showed investigators his Instagram account, which featured a photo with a well-known Malaysian public figure. An officer eventually requested a practical demonstration of his skills to confirm his status as a professional player.

After being released from his handcuffs, 23savage played a match of DOTA 2 as the character Kez. He achieved 32 kills, successfully convincing the officer, who was familiar with the game. The police subsequently released the entire team, though they reportedly confiscated two jars of Nutella before departing.
