Key information
Good Smile Company announced on October 23, 2026, that its official online store was compromised by a third party. Unauthorized access occurred between October 19 and October 22, leading to the potential exposure of member personal information and partial credit card details.
The breach involved various categories of data, including names, addresses, email addresses, and purchase histories. Regarding financial information, the company stated that while credit card brands, expiration dates, and the last four digits of card numbers may have been accessed, full card numbers and security codes remain unaffected.
In response, Good Smile Company immediately shut down the online store to investigate the incident and address system vulnerabilities. The platform remains offline indefinitely as the company works to enhance security measures. The incident has been reported to the Personal Information Protection Commission in Japan.
The company warned members to remain vigilant against potential phishing attempts or fraudulent communications. Affected users will be notified individually via email once investigations conclude. Customers with concerns can reach out through a separate support system, as the company continues to prioritize security improvements to prevent future occurrences.
