During a National Assembly audit held on October 23, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Choi Hwi-young committed to attending this year's G-Star exhibition. This pledge followed a request from Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee Chairperson Lee Jae-jung, who emphasized the importance of government presence for industry morale.

Chairperson Lee Jae-jung noted that while the gaming industry appears prosperous, many companies remain small-scale. She expressed concerns regarding the potential overseas leakage of domestic game technology and intellectual property, while also highlighting the need for political focus on e-sports integration and international standardization.

Minister Choi acknowledged that while South Korea previously held leadership in PC gaming, the sector now faces slowed growth and increased competition from China. He outlined plans to support global blockbuster titles, promote indie games, and foster talent capable of navigating AI-driven development environments.

Regarding his G-Star attendance, Minister Choi explained that he was unable to attend last year due to parliamentary scheduling conflicts. He confirmed that he has promised the gaming industry he will attend this year, provided no conflicting legislative duties arise, and invited committee members to join him.
