On October 24, the indie studio ShintoWorks released a free browser-based adventure game titled Rei, Tashitokimashita. The game, playable on both PC and smartphones, casts players as a remote worker tasked with fabricating spirit photographs for the Spirit Photo Fabrication Center.

Players must instruct an AI on where and what kind of spirits to generate within selected images. After the AI output, users manually refine the photos using tools to add dates, scratches, or blur effects to ensure the final product appears authentic.

Completed images are presented on a television program where commentators and psychics evaluate the work to determine the player's compensation. While earnings allow for the purchase of new editing tools, the game warns that persistent work eventually leads to unintended entities appearing in the photos.

ShintoWorks notes the experience lasts approximately 30 minutes and features three distinct endings based on player performance. The title contains no jump scares and permits game streaming and monetization. The developer cautions that the game includes flickering screen effects.
