The 2026 League of Legends World Championship Swiss stage commenced today, featuring a matchup between LCP second seed CFO and LCS first seed TLAW. CFO emerged victorious in their opening game against the North American team.
CFO established an early lead by securing the first dragon at six minutes and drawing first blood in the bottom lane. While TLAW managed to recover some momentum by winning a skirmish at 12 minutes, the game remained competitive with even gold totals by the 25-minute mark.
The match concluded at 37 minutes after CFO secured both the Earth Dragon Soul and the Elder Dragon. Following a decisive team fight and a Baron capture, CFO pushed into the TLAW base to destroy the nexus.
CFO player ShadOw noted that while the team built an early advantage, they struggled to close the game cleanly. He attributed mid-game tension to rapid communication but credited the team for regaining composure. ShadOw also explained that the team specifically countered their opponent's Lee Sin strategy by studying VODs to predict early jungle pathing.
