Ratalaika Games S.L. and Shinyuden have officially released Vixen 357 on PC via Steam. This title is a port of the robot simulation RPG originally launched by Masaya for the Mega Drive in 1992.
Set in AD 2396, the game follows the special unit Slash, which operates high-mobility humanoid weapons known as VECTOR. Players assume the role of pilot Takuya Murasawa after the unit is ambushed during training. The game features 16 turn-based maps where players must manage unit movement and combat.
A core mechanic of the experience is permadeath, where pilots and machines are permanently lost if defeated. This system forces players to carefully consider their unit compositions and tactical decisions, as these choices directly impact future engagements.
The Steam version includes modern quality-of-life features such as save states, fast-forward, rewind, screen filters, and cheats. Additionally, a gallery containing original illustrations and posters is available. The game is currently available on Steam, with a 20% discount running until November 7.
