Kids Table Board Gaming has officially revealed Lairs: Quests, a new expansion series for the Lairs board game. This upcoming release transitions players from the proving grounds into dangerous catacombs, featuring an initial set of four distinct modules with additional content planned for the future.
The expansion maintains the core Lairs engine, where opponents design dungeons for one another and utilize the established action system. However, each module introduces unique victory conditions, environmental quirks, and narrative events that significantly alter the standard gameplay experience.
Specific modules like Curse of the Crypt Queen demonstrate these changes, requiring players to navigate subterranean graveyards and manage curses while seeking artifacts to weaken a boss. While modules can be played in any sequence, the game rewards players for revisiting content by allowing accomplishments in one quest to influence others.
Each Quest module includes specialized components, story elements, and adventure-specific monsters, traps, and treasures. Interested players can monitor the campaign page for further updates ahead of the scheduled Kickstarter launch in May 2027.
