The studio intends to maintain its focus on Helldivers 2, which will reach its three-year anniversary in February 2027. Pilestedt noted that the primary competitor for a potential third game would be the current title, and the team prefers to build upon the existing momentum rather than discard it.
Approximately 150 employees work at Arrowhead, with 95% of the staff dedicated to improving Helldivers 2 and delivering high-quality content. The studio prioritizes player engagement over short-term financial gains, aiming to keep the community active and entertained.
Future development of a sequel would only be considered if the team could create something distinct enough to coexist alongside the current game. This philosophy mirrors the transition from the original title to Helldivers 2, which introduced significant differences despite sharing core mechanics.
