Xbox is currently seeking a single partner to adapt its gaming catalog into non-interactive entertainment formats, moving away from its previous strategy of collaborating with multiple entities. Reports from Puck, as shared by VGC, indicate that Netflix expressed interest in securing these rights.

According to three sources familiar with the situation, Netflix proposed a $500 million deal spanning seven years to utilize Xbox intellectual properties. However, the negotiations stalled because Xbox reportedly requested $800 million for the partnership, leading to the collapse of the potential agreement.

In response to inquiries from Puck, Xbox stated it is receiving record-breaking interest in its properties. The company acknowledged Netflix as a valued partner currently involved in Minecraft and Diablo animation projects, though it declined to comment on the specific financial figures or the alleged failed deal.

Sources suggest that Xbox is struggling to reach the valuation it desires for its catalog. Consequently, the company may be forced to abandon its goal of a single exclusive partnership and instead pursue smaller, individual agreements with various companies.
