Behaviour Interactive has confirmed that the character Chucky, known as The Good Guy, will be removed from Dead by Daylight on November 24 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET. The character originally joined the game in November 2023.
Players who purchase the Chucky DLC before the deadline will retain permanent access to the character and his associated cosmetics, including the Tiffany skin. While the character's three unique perks will remain in the game, those who do not own the DLC will see these perks renamed. For example, Hex: Two Can Play will become Hex: Eye For An Eye, Friends Til the End will change to One Track Mind, and Batteries Included will be renamed Gaining Steam.
The developer has not provided a specific reason for the delisting, though it is speculated that the licensing rights for the character are expiring. This follows a pattern of removals for other licensed horror icons, such as Michael Myers and Pinhead, who were previously delisted from the title.
Despite the upcoming removal, Behaviour Interactive noted that Prestige rewards and quests associated with Chucky will remain accessible to players. Interested users have one month from the announcement to acquire the content before it is pulled from all platforms.
