Archetype Entertainment has revealed a redesigned appearance for Jun Aslan, the protagonist of its upcoming sci-fi RPG, Exodus. This update follows widespread community dissatisfaction regarding the character's original facial design, which some observers described as homely.
The new character model, showcased in a recent cinematic trailer featuring voice actor Matthew McConaughey, presents a significantly more polished aesthetic. The developer has shifted from the previous, slightly more rugged look to a refined appearance characterized by sharp, prominent features.
Despite the visual overhaul, players may face limitations in customization. The trailer description suggests that Exodus restricts users to one facial preset per sex, with additional personalization limited to options such as hairstyles, hair color, facial hair, and tattoos. This approach appears more constrained than the extensive character creation suites found in other modern RPGs.
Exodus is currently scheduled for release early next year. The game is positioned as a successor to the Mass Effect series, aiming to capture similar thematic vibes while navigating the high expectations for character design established by its predecessors.
