Key information
The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has officially registered The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake for the Switch 2. This upcoming audiovisual revision of the 1998 Nintendo 64 classic is scheduled to arrive in stores on November 5.
The game features third-person exploration of Hyrule, where players solve puzzles and combat enemies using swords, shields, arrows, and magic. The ESRB description notes that battles involve impact sounds, colorful light effects, and cries of pain, with some enemies emitting green or purple blood effects upon defeat.
The title has been assigned an E+10 rating due to the presence of animated blood and fantasy violence. While the original 1998 release was rated E for everyone, the ESRB notes that this classification aligns with the previous Ocarina of Time 3D release, which also received an E+10 rating in the United States.
Beyond the rating, recent reports indicate that the remake includes a new area allowing players to re-fight bosses. Nintendo has been promoting the launch by highlighting the game's legacy, and early impressions describe revisiting Hyrule as a wonderful experience.
