Wholesale prices for NVIDIA RTX 5080 16 GB graphics cards have surged in China, rising by approximately 2,000 yuan, or roughly $300. According to reports from Board Channels, the cards now trade between 14,500 and 15,000 yuan, up from the previous range of 12,700 to 13,500 yuan.
These price adjustments are attributed to tighter upstream supply and rumors regarding the potential discontinuation of the 16 GB model. While an unconfirmed claim suggests NVIDIA may discontinue the card in January, the market is already reacting to these supply concerns.
ASUS and Gigabyte have implemented specific price increases across their lineups. ASUS reportedly added 1,000 yuan to RTX 5080 16 GB models, while Gigabyte increased its versions by 1,200 yuan. The RTX 5070 Ti also saw a price hike of roughly $100, with both manufacturers applying smaller increases to other models.
Market analysts anticipate the launch of a 24 GB RTX 5080 in Q1 2027, which may retail near 19,999 yuan. With memory manufacturers warning that GDDR7 supply will remain constrained through at least 2028, these regional price shifts in China could signal broader cost increases for international consumers.
