Amazon has announced a strategic shift for its cloud gaming service, Luna, which is included with Prime memberships. Following the surprise inclusion of Star Wars: Galactic Racer on its launch day, the company confirmed it will offer more simultaneous releases alongside PC and console platforms for its subscribers.
The initiative aims to provide full, unrestricted access to new titles. For instance, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, an arcade racing game developed by Fuse Games, was made available to all Prime members on October 6, 2026, the same day it launched on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles.
Jeff Gattis, director of Amazon's gaming division, stated that this strategy is part of a broader vision to remove barriers to gaming. The company intends to integrate these experiences further into Prime Video, allowing users to access games directly from televisions and other devices without needing a traditional console.
Currently, the Luna library features over 80 titles, ranging from major productions like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to independent games and party-focused experiences. Amazon plans to continue expanding this presence, promising that the first year of this service model is only the beginning of their long-term gaming strategy.
